Sport Performance Website Unveiled
When Joe Heskett was hired in June of 2014 as the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Performance, he was tasked to spearhead a new program that would bring all of West Virginia University’s resources together to enhance the student-athlete experience.
Just over a year later, Sport Performance has launched a new website that is the go to for WVU student-athletes. The site connects departmental and university resources in one centralized location, allowing student-athletes to view the available resources supporting their holistic development.
“This website exists thanks to a complete team effort from departments within West Virginia University,”Heskett said. “It is imperative that we, as athletic department, align our resources and of equal importance ensure that our coaches and student-athletes are aware of how to access these valuable resources.
“This is a significant first step towards a sustainable developmental model that will positively impact our student-athletes. Shane Lyons stresses the importance of innovation and we will continue to build upon this past year and the foundation that has been set so that we can provide the absolute best experience for our Mountaineer student-athletes.”
