2015 beat Georgia Southern, 44-0

2014 beat Towson, 54-0

2013 beat William & Mary, 24-17

2012 beat Marshall, 69-34

2011 beat Marshall, 34-13

2010 beat Coastal Carolina, 31-0

2009 beat Liberty, 33-20

2008 beat Villanova, 48-21

2007 beat Western Michigan, 62-24

2006 beat Marshall, 42-10

2005 beat Wofford, 35-7

2004 beat East Carolina, 56-23

2003 lost to Wisconsin, 24-17

After Wisconsin, WVU never played a team above the Conference USA level. Certainly not a BCS level or Power 5 level team. WAY different animal.

Even a weak Missouri team is tougher to beat than, say, Marshall, which has never been victorious over the Mountaineers in, I think, 12 tries. Green is 0-12. Or, at they put it, 12-0.

I give you a lot of flack on here about your new drink "Holgorsen Haterade" but with this you make valid points!

Thanks. But I don't hate anyone. It's not in my nature.

I AM unhappy with what Dana has done so far, and I'd be thrilled if he suddenly becomes a brilliant WVU coach, as Bill Belichek did after his disastrous start with the Browns when he went to the Patriots.

Also, I go by facts, not emotion.

I always look up the facts before I post about a debate thread on here. At times, I change my mind or direction with my post when I see things I didn't realize even though they didn't fit my original perception.

We're all Mountaineer fans here.

That's why I dislike it when we tear into each other personally. That's like attacking a family member. A no-no.

Again, thanks for your post.

By the way, 15 years as a sportswriter maybe gives me a different perspective on some of the points made on this board than those who have never been inside the lockerrooms after victories and defeats. The players hurt and are elated more than we are, by far.

They put their skin in the game. We only put in our hearts.

We are 2-3 (.400) all-time against Missouri.
1-0 (1.000) against Youngstown (1938)
This is the first meeting between WVU and BYU
Amazingly, we are 1-6 (.167) against KSU with the last win in 1930.
Our best all-time opponent on this year's schedule is Kansas, 6-1 (.800). Other than the one YSU victory.
Other than that we are .500 or better all-time against current conference members TTU, OSU, UT, ISU and Baylor.

We lost to the only real team on that list, Wisconsin.

Mizzou has a brutal defense. This game is a toss up I believe.

I like our chances .... but if you put a gun to my head I would pick Missouri.
Sorry ... but that's way I see it.

A win in this game would be fantastic. We can do it. But it's gonna be very tough.

Good stats! I didn't catch that when I did my research. It's so rare that WVU, or any Power 5 team, plays another Power 5 team (or its equivalent in earlier years), that the facts are scarcer than hen's teeth (haven't heard that one in a while since I left my native state).
