Slazinski says they couldn't do anything in the first half and they shared the ball better and played West Virginia basketball in the second half. Wilson says there was more trust in the second half and they weren't sure how to go about the first half. They all agree it's a big win to get the first for Coach Josh Eilert.
-- In the second half, Quinn let the game come to him more so it was good to see the ball go in the second half.
-- Wilson says they were positive in the locker room after the first half and that was their mindset leading into the second half. Slazinski said it was 'borderline hilarious' in the first half with the missed baskets and they were looking at each other and unable to catch a break.
-- When Edwards opened the second half to get the crowd involved he wanted to get them energized. Slazinski said the fans were great tonight and it was great to have them apart of the game. Wilson says the team can sees the work they all put in and make a mental change for the second half.
-- Slazinski says the team doesn't play differently with a short bench, since they're physically and mentally strong from working in the preseason.
-- Edwards says he adapts his play whenever he gets double and triple teamed throughout the game and it's just up to him to find his teammates for easy looks.
-- Wilson says Kobe Johnson has put in a lot of work to prep for his starting role and he's happy for him to get this opportunity and make the most of it. Edwards says Ofri Naveh is a big energy guy, with a lot of poise and 'a veteran in a freshman's body.' Slazinski is so thankful for Ofri to be apart of the team. He was the one talking and motivating the players during the break.
