Hahahahahahahahhahahhaa...lofty goals indeed for an outfit that's got no shot at accomplishing the feat! Might as well set your goal for the Super Bowl and NBA Finals!
They'd be better off setting their goal to be ranked ahead of MU for a change...but no shot at that this year either!
That wouldn't be difficult at all if the Mountaineers would play a pathetic SOS as mooU! I would be embarrassed to beat my chest over such an underwhelming accomplishment!! But that is what makes tc and humpy entertaining!!
Yes they ARE lofty goals. I was at a meeting with WVU BB coach and he said last yr despite an entirely new roster of first year players, mostly freshman, they felt they would be a top 15 team and they finished in the Sweet 16. This year he says those players are taking it to a whole new level and believe we'll be a Final 4 caliber team. Goal is to win the Big 12, get to the dance, and win it all.
As for FB, the coaches have stated they finally have the depth and talent to finish out the season and win the Big 12. Win the Big 12 and we're in the Final 4 playoff spot.
West Virginia is one of only a hand full of schools that have played in a major bowl and finished in the Sweet 16 or better in the same year. The stars are aligned right for us to be the first to do it again in the CFB playoff era.

Good God...you boys needed a miracle to beat Buffalo in the 1st round of the dance....when you played UK you got welded....if it had been a HS baseball game you'd have been 10 run ruled! You were all out to nip the Herd !
Marshall would kill for a single NCAA tournament game win ... hell, just an appearance in the dance. You can't even get a play-in game. And you're criticizing our Sweet 16 finish?
Bragging about your record in football against an SOS ranked well into the 100's (while losing to #80, which sadly was one of your better opponents), but disparaging an NCAA tournament win?

Last post season tournament win was in the NIT in 1967.
