I am fully aware of the debacle that was the Sweet 16 last year. Biggest beat down I've ever seen in my years of watching WVU bball. But you know the silver lining in this? The players will use that awful feeling as fuel to not let that happen again.

This season I expect a repeat of last year. 23-25 wins, a #5 seed, and an appearance in the second weekend of the tourney.

HOWEVER.

2016/2017 will be our best chance at a basketball national title ever IF, IF, IF Devin Williams and Esa Ahmad return to school.

G - Jevon Carter - JR
G - Daxter Miles - JR
F - Esa Ahmad - SO
F - Elijah Macon - JR
C - Devin Williams - SR

BN - Tarik Phillip
BN - James Bolden
BN - Brandon Watkins
BN - Maciej Bender
BN - Nathan Adrian

That is a roster COMPLETE with everything you need to win a national title. Experienced guards, good perimeter defense, great rebounding, multiple go-to guys (Williams/Ahmad) and DEPTH.

The only thing we need to add is more 3pt shooting.

Last year we won 25 games while playing multiple true freshman, implementing the full court press, being awful from 3pt, and our best player (Staten) being injured for the majority of the season.

The seeds have been planted for a run at glory. I wish it would come this year, but the smart money is on 2016/2017.
