This is NOT about the WVU women’s team, just women’s basketball in general.
I had turned on their game against Temple and decided to watch. I’ve never been real big into women’s basketball. It’s hard to watch, imo. We have an awesome coach & he’s doing really good things with the program. We have some awesome players, especially Quinnerly. But man, if there isn’t a huge talent gap between men and women, particularly in this sport. I’ve always thought this & often discuss it with my wife, a former WBB player. She agrees. I stress that I’m not trying to sound sexist, but it’s just the truth. One can watch a game and figure that out in minutes. She also agreed. It just looks like they have such a hard time playing the game. Most shooting motions look awkward, reaction times are so much slower, basketball IQ doesn’t seem to be as high (with some it absolutely is), so much sloppy play, layups look extremely hard. There’s so many bricks for layups & air balls for jumpers. This is just my opinion & I’m sure some won’t agree. That’s okay. I just can’t get into women’s basketball because it looks so sloppy and awkward. There are exceptions, with the most recent being Caitlin Clark of course.
