that DH coached Mountaineers finish in the top 15? Best finishes under the Iowa phenom has been 17th and 18th...the only two ranked finishes for the team during his reign. BTW: one of those ranked teams was the first year with someone else's recruits and system.

That someone else with their own recruits dropped the program spiraling down. Holgs took that someone else recruits and won Orange Bowl in blow out fashion. We have yet to recover since entering Big 12 2012. In 2912 with other coaches recruits season ending 7-6. Have been mediocre ever since Rod the fraud left. Speaking of Rod the Fraud. He has been a failure at 2 other programs since WVU.
WVU has finished top 25 only 20 times. WVU has finished in top 10 a total of 6 times. 1953,1988,1993, 2005, 2006, 2007.
It's not a norm for WVU to be top 25 at the end of the season. Just because Rod had Pat White people have assumed WVU has always been a top tier program. WVU has not. WVU is a tier 2 team. That's not a horrible thing considering many other P5 programs are the same. There are very few tier 1 teams or so called blue bloods. Now with the playoff system it will be harder to even have a shot at a title. BCS gave us a better chance to win it all.
