Why isn't the Big 12 Championship Game held in Dallas?

At least rotate sites. Hell, I vote for San Antonio! Very beautiful city, I'm sure they would get behind hosting a conference tournament.

By all accounts the tournament is very well run at its current location and cherished by all who visit.

If it ain't broke .... why fix it?

Maybe they will let Morgantown host it in return for not expanding the conference with a travel partner for WVU?

At least it would be in a state where a Big 12 team resides.

You could say the same for the ACC for having their tourney not in a state where a team resides.

Kansas City is a close commute for KU and ISU fans, who are the fan bases that show the most support at the conference tournament. Not to mention the resources, time, and energy that the city and Sprint Center puts into the event makes your OP ludicrous.

Why not just play at Iowa State and The Field House? Rotate annually from Iowa State and Kansas?

Kansas is going to make history in the 1st round anyways. As Donald Trump always likes to say "it's going to be great, it's going to be beautiful, it's going to be yuge".

Or perhaps there is no Big XII support in WV. Show us a city that can host 15,000 fans and we will consider the request. Until then, the conference tourney goes through real cities.

Funny from a team that got smacked twice by the champ. Sould have stayed in the big least, Nova needed some competition.

Not that you would know..... ..but football games alone can bring three to four times that amount of fans. ....and even little 'ol Morgantown, WV handles it just fine.

Nobody is seriously saying the Big 12 should play the tourney outside the man part of the conference footprint anyway.

Kansas has become legendary in busting brackets in recent years. Congrats on the win....now go all the way!

couple things...since joining the league, WVU-KU series is 4-3. let's not forget that. to be fair and accurate.

I'm not sure where I'd rank Kansas City, Missouri among "real cities."

"we will consider the request"...get over yourself, bruh. as if Kansas has the power to pick.

be thankful your team gets a home-like environment for the league tournament. & be thankful WV & TCU helped save the sinking ship that was the BXII.

WV is doing just fine in this league just as it did in the Big East, which was the best in college basketball history.

finally...was it not the case last year that WVU made the Sweet 16 and 2 seed KU bowed out by 13 in the 2nd RD to your little brother, Wichita State? show some class, consider facts and enjoy your big win today.

I did not stop by tonight to get into an internet fight on here. But I have to address some of the lunacy being posted on here by some of your fans.
WVU do you seriously want to brag about making the sweet 16 last year over Kansas losing early, really! I mean Kansas ranks pretty high on the list of BB schools with final fours.

KU will soon set the record for the longest NCAA tournaments streaks in a row, currently 26 or 27 straight years. You make the tournament that many years straight. You just might have some early exits too.
A wise fan might understand that if your team does make the tournament that many years in a row. It would mean that other historic programs have missed the tournament during that time frame.
I'll take making the Big dance every year and losing games in the NCAA over the alternative of not making the March Madness any day of the week.
WVU fans all the early exits talk is mostly by rival fans who have not even been there once or done anything better yet then Kansas, when they did make the tournament.
But FYI I'm hoping for a good showing this year for the league.
I do know one thing if you want to talk smack about a program. The smack talking fans should have a better over all history before they do it,just saying.
WVU where were you in 2008 when Kansas won the title or 2012 when Kansas was in the National Championship game and lost to a great UK team?
Yeah another Championship would be nice but I have lived for two of them. How many have you had in that time frame?

The big 12 tried to rotate the tournament to other areas like Texas and Oklahoma before. But have you not been paying attention to the fan support for BB in those states.
It's getting better from some programs again thankfully. But it was an attendance nightmare for ticket sales. WVU fans it was kinda like attending a WVU basketball game without Kansas in town, mostly empty.
The Big 12 tournament went back to Kansas City, because KC wanted it more then the other states. KC built the Sprint center which is pretty amazing. The fan support from ISU,Kansas and K State fans make for a sold out experience and a great fan experience.
Why change it?
Don't brag to much about saving the league though, because you were not exactly wanted by any other conferences.
You needed the league or where would you be now? so yes you did save the league WVU thank you for that, but you did not have any options.

Thx for the 'Trying Way Too Hard' post of the week.

For the record, one of your fans started the trash talk!! You'd think a team that wins as much as you guys wouldn't be so effing bitter!!!! Don't act like you have the greatest fan base on earth, easy to pack the house when you're top 5 every season, but as you show in football, you only show up when you're winning!!

Funny from a team that got smacked twice by the champ. Sould have stayed in the big least, Nova needed some competition.
So we weren't competition for you? You lost to us once, beat us by 10 in pretty much a home game when we hit a total of 2 three pointers!! Bragging bout beating little ole non competitive WVU!!

I know you aren't used to this, but most teams average more than 15,000 for their football games, one day, you may also!!

KU 4 WV 3. deal.

Northern Iowa says hi you lunatic. Get over yourself & be glad WV boosted this conference. Best luck vs Wichita State.

Kansas would have been middle of the road in the big east we played in. I now understand why they win the big 12 so much but fade in the ncaa tournament.

How many of the posters here would make the trip to Dallas if the Big 12 tourney was held there? Now, how many of these same folks did not make the trip to Kansas City simply because they will not travel to KC? This is important.

Kansas has a Fine history....so does WVU. Hope all the Big 12 teams in the Dance this year do WELL.....and don't exit early. I think we have to settle for KC as the tournament site....hit those threes...we would of won....without the refs....But that was yesterday....Move on.

I wish that they would move it to Dallas too but I think the logistics are just too difficult to iron out. The American Airlines Center is shared by the Mavericks and Stars, and playing in AT&T stadium would just look crappy on tv.

The Big 12 Tourney ain't going nowhere but KC for the foreseeable future.

Talk to WV media people and fans who have made the trek to KC.
It's a great event that wouldn't happen the way it does anywhere else.

If they didn't attend/cover a Big 12 tourney anywhere else then how could they possibly make such a claim ??
