Because it's the largest office and hopefully will be under new leadership sooner than later. Trump's people got them here. He wants information from them. That will take some time but he didn't bring them here to protect them.
Time will tell .
After finding out who was in command in NY I have my doubts anything good will come from it .
There are others there to question them. Them being prosecuted isn't the most important thing right now. When it is time I recommend their information better match those who got the first interview.

These weapons are now in the hands of armed groups around the world, including Hamas, the Mexican drug cartels and the forces now controlling Syria. God knows what the Ukrainians have done with the pathogens in American biolabs in their country. Even US intel agencies aren’t sure. The Ukrainians have also murdered a number of people in various countries in political assassinations, and tried to murder others, including American journalists and a European head of state. This is all true, and it’s all going to come out at some point. Better to start blaming it on Zelensky now.

The OG's didn't ship drugs across our border and distribute them without help on this side. The Intelligence they possess is GOLD in the big picture of actually accomplishing something. Hence why some are eager to start a War with Russia before that is all dealt with.
