On the first team depth chart, as of today:

Wide receiver David Sills, Wilmington, Delaware.
Wide receiver Gary Jennings, Stafford, Virginia.
Left tackle Yodny Cajuste, Miami, Florida.
Left guard Jose Sills, Sarahsville, Ohio.
Center Jacob Buccigrossi, Pittsburgh.
Right guard Isaiah Hardy, Laurel Springs, New Jersy.
Right tackle Colton McKivitz, Jacobsburg, Ohio.
Wide receiver T.J. Simmons, Pinson, Alabama.
Tight end Trevon Wesco, Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Quarterback Will Grier, Davidson, North Carolina
Fullback Logan Thimons, Sarver, Pennsylvania.
Running back Kennedy McCoy, Lexington, North Carolina

That’s ONE West Virginian good enough to play with this offense. You want to use 2nd and 3rd stringers instead because they are from West Virginia?

Defensive end Ezekiel Rose, Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Nose tackle Darius Stills, Fairmont, West Virginia.
Defensive end Reese Donahue, Ona, West Virginia.
SAM Charles Benton, Opelika, Alabama.
MIKE Dylan Tonkery, Bridgeport, West Virginia.
WILL David Long, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Left corner Hakeem Bailey, Atlanta, Georgia.
Spur Dravon Askew-Henry, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.
Free safety Kenny Robinson, Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania.
Bsafety Toyus Avery, Covington, Georgia.
Right corner Derrek Pitts, Dunbar, West Virginia.

That’s 4 from West Virginia on the defense. You want replace the other 7 with 2nd and 3rd teamers from West Virginia?

That’s 5 on the first team among the 22 who are from West Virginia. There are 31 on the roster from West Virginia. Do you really want to replace non-West Virginians with West Virginians? Or do you want the best players out there?

If WVU wins the national title who would really care how many West Virginians are among the starters?

Your crazy. Why not get good WV kids? Amir Richardson next. Yeahhhhh!!!!!

Dante Stills, Darius Stills, Drummond, Wesco, Pitts, Donahue, Lee, Grantham, Tonkery.....they get it. They show we need more. Out of state busting at 55% ratio. Get a few more good WV kids. It’s common sense.

Pratt...wasn't defending 304's grammar or argument. However was pointing out the small minded post by Resident Red Ink. I agree with some of 304's ranting...top players from the state should be recruited and signed by WVU. If you can't own your house then you will never own the block it sits on. A quality recruit is a quality recruit regardless of the state of origin. Of course the current chief relies more on transfers of all kinds to plug roster holes. There is something wrong with something when a HC in his eighth year is running with only 74 scholarship players. That makes not gathering the top talent in the state even more glaring. There you go. Got it?

85 scholarships - 11 transfers = 74 scholarship players.

The large failure of out of state recruits sucking at 50% ratio causes bad numbers and attrition to the roster. Not good. We need to get a few more each year from WV. Period. Own the state better. Rootmaster and Heath are 2 of the smartest posters on these sites. They know the game. They know the process and what it takes.

Just messing with ya, Root. For the record, I don’t dislike anyone and I don’t ignore anyone. We are all different but we all share 1 commonality in our love of WVU. Except OSUgrad lol

Most intelligent thing I've read in a long time.
