Recall that the New York Post was deplatformed from Twitter & Facebook for reporting on Hunter Biden's laptop before the election, while NPR wrote that they wouldn't even discuss it because they didn't want to waste anyone's time.

All of this was illegal election interference.

The story was "authentic" before the NYT admitted it! A story doesn't suddenly become "authentic" just because the propagandists in the MSM decide to cover it. It's "authentic" once the facts reported on it before they ever recognize them are verified.
