What kind of record would it take to not get a B10 team into the playoffs every year?

I'm not even talking about this season....which the B10 looks very good.

It was obvious the fix was in 2 years ago to the detriment of TCU/Baylor.

Would a 3 loss OSU or Michigan get in if they won the CCG? No sarcasm. How bad will one of those teams need to be to not get in?

I know this ignores the obvious response of "well it kind of depends on how good the non-B10 teams are," but I'm at the point where I'm not even sure it matters how good the other conferences are.

About the only way you'd see it happen is if the 2012 situation were to repeat, when 7-5 Wisconsin upset Nebraska in the Big Ten title game...or maybe like 2000, when 8-3 Purdue won the Big Ten under the non-title game format.

0-12 by every team. Even then, Barry Alvarez would figure a way to have the playoff committee put 2 of the less-bad teams into the playoffs.

M anhandled Missouri, 26-11

O rdinary against Youngstown, 38-21

U nnerving miracle goalline tip/interception escapes BYU, 35-32

N o quit against Kansas State, 17-16

T ony’s turbulence tore up Texas Tech, 48-17

A nother defense whipping, of TCU, 34-10

I gnominy of turnovers against Oklahoma State, 20-37

Thus far, only 1 loss B1G teams have made the final four, with both being conference champions. One of which, won it all in 2014, so I'm not sure what the argument is against the B1G. Most would agree it's far and away the top conference this season, top to bottom.

Yep that Rutgers team is some kind of good for being a bottom team.

Again, I gave props this year. The B10 isn't as good as everyone is making it out to be...but it's very good.

I just seems that the "two B10 team in playoff" rhetoric is non-stop from the media and that OSU gift did completely screw over TCU/Baylor in 2014 when TCU's only loss all year was a very close game to a top 5/6 Baylor instead of a pathetic VT squad. OSU did win it all....but how can you say that 2014 TCU couldn't have done the same thing?

It really seems the B12 gets the shaft media-wise (deserved this year) and the Big 10 gets a disproportionate amount of praise/breaks.

Kansas would likely beat Rutgers on a neutral field. Ditto for Iowa State.
I guess it's possible, but to be honest, I wouldn't feel comfortable laying down a bunch of dough, wagering on either team in a matchup of those two titans.
