flipping through the channels and started watching dayton vs rhode island in the a-10 tourney and remembered when we were in that conference. it was the eastern 8 before that though and check out the original member list:

(Villanova, Duquesne, Penn State, West Virginia, George Washington, Massachusetts, Pittsburgh, and Rutgers).

now the a-10 is:

Davidson
Dayton
Duquesne
Fordham
George Mason
George Washington
La Salle
Massachusetts
Rhode Island
Richmond
St. Bonaventure
St. Joseph's
St. Louis
Virginia Commonwealth

all told, i couldn't be happier with the conference we're in at this point

The A-10 is actually on of the top non-5 power conferences in basketball...

I get we are happy to be in the Big XII...but I don't get the hate for it.

hate for it? never stated anything at all about hating the eastern 8/a-10 and i actually have fond memories of that time period. i just really appreciate that we are in one of the power 5 conferences, getting paid, and having the resources to hopefully bag a championship in football or basketball one day. i don't think we'd be anywhere close to that opportunity if we still played as a football indy and had our teams in the a-10...
