--West Virginia head coach Neal Brown said his team competed really hard, no issues there but tough. They hung around and had a chance to make it closer but they were really disappointed with the drive before the half and out of the half. He thought they got held twice in the red zone but didn't get the calls. Special teams really hurt them today. They got consistent starting field position and the PAT left points on the board. It's hard to tell what happened but that unit has been solid and consistent but it was not good today. Offensively just inconsistent. Garrett Greene did some good things but made some good decisions and bad decisions in his first career start. Jaylen Anderson was a real bright spot. Defensively West Virginia played really poorly in the first half and in the second half they struggled to get to the passer. If you look at the stats, Brown would have felt really good coming into the game but obviously that wasn't the case.

--Tight ends hurt West Virginia the most up vertical. They were running a flood and geting four guys to a side. West Virginia went into the game keyed in on Deuce Vaughn but the quarterback played well. He had the pick but he did a nice job.

--Brown was upset with the guys on his sideline on the first half.

--Greene played well last week and they thought his ability to run gave them a chance in the game. He did some nice things and had some really nice throws. Some of the decision making has to get better but he has to look at it on film.

--Once you make the decision on a starting quarterback you want to stick with it. He isn't sure if he is the starter next week.

--West Virginia had some good things on the opening drive in the second half but they overcame those penalties and had a first and 10 around the 15. They ran a screen play and the player was clearly held. Greene has to get the ball out of his hands on the sack. The snap was low but you have to trust it and kick through it on the field goal attempt.

--Kaden Prather was out. Charles Woods he has seen twice in two weeks. Woods has shut it down. Prather should play next week.

--Justin Johnson and Jaylen Anderson ran the ball hard and they did a good job.

--Brown doesn't know if they handled the emotion of senior day well. You're playing a game that is extremely emotionally charged.

--James Gmiter had a reoccurring injury and had to give up the game. His mom would be waiting on him and she wasn't and that's tough and he feels for him.

"Charles Woods he has seen twice in two weeks. Woods has shut it down."

That is very concerning.

I get the impression things are falling apart. I feel kinda bad for HCNB because he seems like a good guy and I think he knows the end is near, but OTOH that's why he gets paid big bucks.

It does make you wonder why that good DBs keep leaving.

Gmiter's mother died and he quit mid-season. Very sad.

JT had high hopes if being a big NFL guy and the season fell apart on him.

Lots of good WRs left after last season, which is crucial when you have a QB that can't run well.

The whole vibe around WVU football is just bad. Whoever is next is going to have his hands full in turning things around.
