--West Virginia head coach Neal Brown said fans showed up and appreciate people coming out and supporting the team. He was able to sub about three quarters through the second quarter and they were able to play a lot of guys. There may be some guys that showed up and could warrant more playing time. There is a lot of effort put into younger guys and the opportunity to play in front of a crowd is hugely important and these games help that.

--Defensively, good bounce back game. They pushed them in practice and practiced physically and stressed running to the football. They have to lean on their front six and they're going to be as good as they will carry them. They have to have the same resiliency. They had zero turnovers on offense and they have a chance offensively and have done some positive things. They ran the ball well and they had a plan at quarterback and were able to get all four into the game. On special teams, they were disappointed with their kickoff. They do a nice job on kickoff return and they worked that more than any special teams unit all week and it was really disappointing.

--Short turnaround on this and there is a trophy game Thursday night and a chance to get back even. Emotionally the players get over things faster but it's hard for them to tune out social media with all the negativity. They understand they have a job to do.

--Played a lot going into the game and went through the three deep at receiver. Run the offense with the quarterbacks and got all the running backs involved. Treylan Davis got some real work and got them out of their system. On defense they played the second and third defensive line the second half. They got Wilson-Lamp and Jacolby Spells a lot of work in the second half. Played a lot of people and that was the plan.

--Looking for who play's fast on film to judge them. Who can get lined up and does what they are coached to do and make plays in a competitive environment. It's more for backups and who can help on special teams. Sean Martin earned the right to be a captain and start. Playing Lance Dixon to the field it better suits his skill set. He has length and is better in space and Jasir can help more at the Will spot. Exree Loe got the start and will continue to play there.

--They had a bad kickoff period on Tuesday and it showed up today.

--They had one procedure penalty in the red zone, but they have officials there almost every day they have contact and he tells them to throw flags on everything. They haven't been a highly penalized team, but they got it cleaned up today.

--Nicco Marchiol has been getting a lot better. He has gotten team reps and has really good talent. He is maturing as a football player and that was a great throw in the back of the end zone.

--You want to see if they can line up and execute what you're coaching them to do and execute in a competitive situation.

--Kaden Prather the last two weeks is starting to mature and has shown it on the field. That is a technique that they teach on the block and it was smart.

--Brown feels really good about the future of the quarterback room. They throw the ball well and they are guys that can run.

--Brown was getting on their ass after the kickoff return. They put a big emphasis on kickoff team. They had awful starting field position for the defense over and over last year. They put a lot of time and resources into it.

--JT Daniels has made a difference and is really prepared. He puts in a lot of time and effort and they have a high level of confidence that he can check and gets them in good situations. The calm demeanor has really helped the wide outs. They've played better up front.

--CJ Donaldson is a really good football player. They didn't recruit him to play running back but he was an h-back. They did some OTAs in the summer and they had a running back they were transitioning out and they only had three scholarship guys. His movements were really fluid and they said let's put him on all running back individual and see if he can do it. The first team defense struggled to tackle him in fall camp. The reason he wasn't playing more is because he can't right now because he's not in shape to do it.
