--Not a lot to say he apologizes to the fans it's not good enough. Kansas won the game, two turnovers were the difference. Defense they couldn't get off the field, offense was good enough to win. He didn't see the interception.

--They struggled to get lined up defensively and defend the triple option looks. They didn't get off blocks very well, they didn't tackle well. It was a track meet and they didn't slow them down. They played really soft and played with a lack of confidence in the secondary. That was not good enough and that's just not how they've played defense the past two years.

--Brown understands the disappointment losing two games right at the end. He understands frustration and there is nobody more frustrated than him although he knows it won't make them feel better. Fans showed up and was loud. He told the team they are two games into this and neither game was the result they wanted but it's a long year. They're going to get better and he understands the frustration but it won't be a lack of effort.

--They punted one time offensively. They kicked it and it ended up being the right way to play it after the false start. He felt really good about it even after they scored. He didn't see the interception and he assumes that he missed it inside.

--When you look back at it, they didn't play well defensively to win the game but he doesn't know if it's because they weren't ready to play. They didn't play well enough so they have to assume that they weren't ready to play. He knew coming in that they would have some issues, but he didn't think they would only punt twice. He thought they would win enough battles up front to get them into second or third and longs and they just didn't.

--West Virginia was supposed to be inside leverage when they snuck the tight end out and they were outside. They back pedaled when they weren't supposed to, but nobody cares because they didn't get it done.

--They got to three backs a lot and played horizontally and vertically. They missed tackles but they didn't win up front like they were capable of winning.

--In this league you will have a bunch of close games, the turnovers were big plays. When you lose close games are turnovers. Even if this was a track meet, they still would have won the game if they don't turn the ball over. They had a chance to grab control of the game and dropped a punt. There has been a lot of close ones.

I’m sure Neal Brown is a nice guy but in the 4th year he is not a winner. D and special teams were awful and looked unprepared. Fans deserve better than this.

Shut up and do the honorable thing by retiring. You are literally stealing money from WVU if you continue "coaching" at WVU in exchange for money as you have admitted yourself to being incompetent at the very thing WVU is paying you for.

Let me add a couple more line items:

—In 37 games now with this head coach, we’ve won the turnover battle in just 10 of those. That will NEVER add up to winning football. It was painfully obvious after halftime that if Kansas didn’t turn it over, we had no chance to stop them.
—One other thing I’ve learned to count on in those 37 games is that in any kind of important, close contest it is always going to be Neal Brown’s team that makes the critical late mistake.
—There is no such thing as starting with a home loss to Kansas and then recovering to have a good season in Big 12 play. Since we’re headed nowhere, don’t waste any more time. Fire him now and get ahead of the market on finding our next coach.

We ain't firing him. He has a HUGE buyout. We are stuck with him.

He fails to win 7 games this year and it will be the first time since the late 70’s that WVU has had lab 7 win seasons 4 years in a row.

So you think that they can just open up and find $20 million? Dude, you serious don't get it. I wish we could fire him, but it's not happening.
It’s been big business for a long time, brother. They’d better find the money or we’ll be too far buried to recover

He’s a bum. Thanks Lyons!

Can’t afford to not fire him. Fan apathy will only get worse. But first fire Lyons.

After sleeping on it ... I regret nothing other than not using more expletives last night. And I agree that if the buyout makes it prohibitively expensive to fire Neal Brown, then fire Lyons by no later than year's end.

Step one fire Shane Lyons ,step two sell whatever you have as value ( commercial real estate, Gee’s fleet of cars and houses ) and hire a real coach. Urban Myer and Dan Mullen are available, Matt Rhule will be after this season. No one has any confidence in Brown , he is not a winner.

The best way to defend the triple-option is to take away something that the offense does. When you limit the number of things that the offense does, it makes it much, much easier to anticipate what they are doing it, as well as where it will be run. It doesn't really matter what it is that you take away.

As the ball is snapped, the defensive tackles have to win the line of scrimmage and cannot get pushed back. The ends have to move toward the middle and force the play to go to the outside as well. This makes the linebackers and the secondary make a decision to attack the middle of the field or play the pitch.

No to Matt Rhule

WVU has not been earning Big East money for the last decade. Last season WVU took in $42 million plus from just the BIG 12. Then they took in much more from their tier 3, marketing and sponsors, ticket sales, parking etc. Prior to and beyond the Covid year, WVU has been bringing in $100,000,000 in athletic revenues. 2021 still had over $70,000,000 reported.

WVU also has some donors, and the payout would not be a lump sum, it would be over time and likely dependent on him getting other job(s) as well.

Removing failing coaches is part of the budget--or it should be if you are going to extend a losing coach years beyond his current deal.

im really disappointed in Shane and how he’s handled Neal. When he was hired he put Dana on notice. Win the Big12 or you wouldn’t last. At this stage we just need to get back to winning 7, 8, 9 games a year.
That's because Kneel is HIS guy.

Luck should be brought in and given the talk he gave Stewart, but have it recorded and played on the Jumbotron every game before the players come out of the tunnel.

F#$k it....ask the hosts for our road games if we can play it before we come out of the tunnels there as well
