--West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries said that they will continue to rely on the medical team with what needs to happen. But in a game that was going to be hard and choppy with changing defenses, the team did a good job figuring things out.
--At times, they found rhythm but offensively was a big part of it because they were able to make things difficult for them. They were able to get steals or stops in the half court.
--DeVries has seen Joseph Yesufu have nights like that at Drake but as he continues to work his way back from injury you can see him be much more comfortable. Flow of the game and how it's going was the biggest reason he didn't play in the Bahamas, but Tucker DeVries not being able to play his 30+ minutes clearly opens things up.
--Early in the game they didn't have anything going but Yesufu was able to bail them out with those two threes and give them a burst.
--Jayden Stone is still day-to-day but continuing to improve.
--If they can settle into a starting lineup they will, but it will be a matchup based deal for the immediate future. It was a tough matchup for the bigger lineup tonight but their best lineup was to go smaller. Amani Hansberry his biggest advantage is to pick and pop, but as a four he can post smaller guys and there are different things they can do.
--Powell puts a lot of time into his shooting and they told him to keep shooting.
--Confidence spreads throughout the team when it comes to shooting. He wants Sencire Harris to keep shooting. He is more than a capable shooter so he needs to be selective on the ones he wants and he just needs to see one go in and it will take the weight of the world off him.
--The keys to winning for West Virginia are always consistent they want to be tough, physical and take care of the ball. And defensive rebounding.
--When teams traps, the main thing is to make sure they pass to their own team. Make sure they have guys where they want them to keep the max amount of receivers that they can have.
--Jake Auer comes in and they see him do it every day in practice and when you look down the bench there isn't a single guy not standing up and rooting him on and that's when you know they have a good culture.
--Their 1-3-1 is a little unique because they sell out and it's hard to simulate and he was pleased with how they didn't turn it over a lot.
--DeVries said they prepare tomorrow with the guys on the floor and if that changes they'll adjust.
-Whether it's injuries or foul trouble there is always an opportunity waiting for someone and you need to make sure they're ready for it.
--KJ Tenner was terrific tonight and he did a good job getting in the interior of the defense and dribbling and it and going to attack. He did a really good job of that and defensively he was a big key because he was applying so much pressure up top.
