--Bob Huggins said that Kansas State came out with more energy.

--The focus at halftime was to stop turning the ball over. The majority of their points came off their turnovers or led to their scores.

--Huggins said that his team is a lot better than the first time they played Kansas State but they are a lot better, too. You better be playing in this league. This is different and it's a whole lot different than what they're used to when it comes to mixing and matching the roster together. Kedrian Johnson has been fantastic as a leader. Emmitt Matthews stepped back a little bit at first but then as he became more comfortable he has been a great leader. And Erik Stevenson is going to lead whether it's the right thing or not. Each of them have gotten better and they've been forced to grow.

--The players have helped Erik Stevenson get out of his slump more than anybody because they needed him.

--Huggins doesn't think about those things on how he's done overall in a season at this stage but he does think about the changes in the game.

--West Virginia didn't start out well but they didn't make free throws and that's a confidence thing and at times it's a mechanics thing. It's little things you can fix that makes it so much easier especially under pressure.

--Huggins hasn't thought about the Big 12 tournament yet. This was a hard game and now they'll take tomorrow off and get back on Monday or Tuesday because they play Wednesday. You really only have two days and you can't go hard. You have to go out and work through what you need to work through.

--Huggins said the crowd was fantastic. It was a great crowd and the team really responded to the crowd.

--They have a lot of experience but it's about getting each of them to understand what they have to do in each situation.

--Emmitt Matthews wants to go out a winner here. His sister and he came in together and tested the waters elsewhere and this is home. Emmitt feels at home here.
