--West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins thought he could throw it close early, but he was a little concerned about scoring points on the perimeter. But when Derek Culver got going and when he does, he’s pretty good.

--Huggins said Culver and all of the players were excited to play in the NCAA Tournament. But Culver started going too fast and once he slowed down, he was able to get going.

--Jalen Bridges has been big for West Virginia since they made the switch and started playing four perimeter guys. He shot it well, he stretches the defense and kept some balls alive on the defensive end.

--Huggins thought it was as well as they’ve played with pressure defense.

--It took Huggins three games to finally get to No. 900. That was the topic of conversation with the players not him and it shows you what type of guys they have.

--Erik Martin had the scout and they said if you give them step in shots, they’ll make it. They made some long shots and some hard shots and if you let them take step in shots, they’ll make most of them.

--When West Virginia got it going, Derek Culver got it going. When he scored it close, they were effective on the offensive end. Everybody wanted to play so well because it was the NCAA Tournament and Culver was pushing as much as anybody.

--The flagrant foul was a big play. Whether it ended up being six or three, but the way they played from there on out was pretty good.

This is a tough game, especially if we come out not shooting well. They are going to need Taz and McBride and maybe even Bridges, to be able to get in the circle and make those jump shots from there. That has been the weak point in the Orange zone. The Wings also need to come and play. if they can make those shots on the wings with McNeil and Bridges that will also pull them out of that zone. Gabe will probably be a better force in this game than Culver because you need a passer from the post. Everyone needs to rebound as well. There will be offensive rebounds with this zone.
