--West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins believes his team has been as good as they could possibly be and they’re looking forward to playing because it’s been a long time.
--South Dakota State is very well coached and do a great job spacing and running their offense. They have multiple guys that can make shots and they are really a difficult team to guard because if you leave guys open they can make shots.
--Huggins thinks they can guard anybody now after preparing for four different teams for this tournament. He said the switching around was good for his team to prepare.
--Huggins said the team is good in regards to testing. They have done a great job in terms of following the guidelines and staying safe. They will have everybody available.
--West Virginia is prepared defensively for just about anything they could see and his team has been great doing what they’ve been asked to do so far. He can’t say enough about the mentality of his team through all of this with the changes and adjustments.
--Quite honestly they haven’t even thought about who they will play next after this game. It isn’t any different than a conference tournament situation. They believe that they will be fine no matter who it is.
--Derek Culver is the second or third fastest guy on the team at his size and is a premier athlete. He needed to work on his skill level in the off-season and he has responded. He can’t say anything negative about anybody on the squad and the culture is all about getting better on a daily basis.
--Culver has great feet and length. He is more of the premier athletes in all of college basketball. He just has to get better offensively. He does a good job defensively moving his feet, staying in front of people and using his length. He’s not a shot blocker but they don’t need him to be.
--Everything has been great with the tournament so far in term of precautions. Guys were tested and the facilities there have been unbelievable. The only thing to screw it up is if they won’t win games.
