I don't recall seeing ANY of our guards who were capable of staying in front of
Russell. Not McCabe, not Haley, not Knapper. They game plan was to wear him out with defenders. That worked out well. McBride didn't fail any more than anyone else on a defense that had NO answer for Fatts.

Went back and watched the game.
Russell was 5-8 against McCabe for 13 points and 63% (even counting the full court miss Fatts had at the end of the game).
He was 2-3 against Haley for 4 pts and 67%
He was 1-3 against Knapper for 3 points and 33%
He was 0-1 against Harler for 0 pts and 0 %
He was 2-2 against Mathews off turnovers for 4 pts and 100%
He was 4-8 against McBride for 8 points and 50%
McBride had 1 turnover, actually did use his left hand a few times. I didn't see any difference in "flow' from one point guard to the other, just a lot of missed shots by our bigs. Most of the time, if Russell had farted on offense, McBride would have smelled it. Would have been an odor free game for Knapper and McCabe.
I guess if you are into percentages we should have defended Russell with Harler and Knapper the whole game!:sunglasses:
