With the Smothers addition, I am beginning to think we have something special going on with this coaching staff as far as acquiring talent. I realize when you compare recruiting class rankings to those in the past, there isn't a remarkable difference in the data/numbers/rankings but, what this staff appears to be doing is impressive. I absolutley live by the mantra that it must translate to wins but I have to say we are putting together a formidable pool of talent on both sides of the ball with the last 2-3 classes. Consistency and stability of this coaching staff is essential. And, it seems to me that it's paying dividends. We'll see this year and next.
I'd be interested in your thoughts as to the talent assembled compared to years past and what you think of this group of coaches and their continuity. To your knowledge are they as cohesive as the players they seem to be assembling? Is Dana driving the effort or are we just fortunate that we have struck gold in great recruiters? I want to believe this was planned and executed and not just dumb luck or an accident that we have this group of recruiters together. Again, I know it had to translate into victories so the coaching aspect is TBD.
