lost no ground in b12 race - actually gained ground. adrian was given room to find his game. work on 1/2 court defense and zones, needed without holton, will pay dividends later - there will be teams we cant press in the tournament (e.g. kentucky last year). finally, holton had time to heal up.

almost forgot.. devin was forced to get back to what he does - rebound

I do think it affected us against Florida (short term) big time, but I agree. Adrian has come on and Devin came out of his funk in B12 play.

It seems like the team rallied around this. It did kind of happen at the best possible time. Plenty of time to make up for lost time. Time to work in some new wrinkles and get players opportunities they wouldn't normally have. Time to get momentum and chemistry back in time for March.

If we make a big run (and I think we will) I personally will look upon this week as the reason why...no matter what happens (short of injury) at Kansas.

I think the past 2 seasons have been some of Huggs best coaching.

The press is better with Holton on the court.
But the overall team became better with him off of the court.

I've been as big a critic of Huggs over the recent years as anyone who has criticized Huggs. But it has been a joy to have a relatively stable basketball program and a joy to watch this team develop.

If they keep improving in the half court offense this is gonna be a serious bball team come post-season.

True. I see players getting better. I hope they can keep it going.

I guess it sets a great example. ...players, to help improve the team, should get suspended more often....

The first game without him had two determining factors 1) WVU was kinda discombobulated playing for the first time without its key piece on defense 2) Florida had a unbelievable shooting day. Bottom line I agree Two great things came from Holton's suspension. The team got a does of humility and extra motivation. All players on the team had no choice but to step it up. When we as fans look back it will end up being a blessing in disguise.

Well..............let's hope Holton returns soon..............for the good of the team. I don't know if he rolled smoke or not but I do know he can roll the roundball pretty dadgum good.

It was a great teaching lesson, which I see Huggins doing on the sidelines nearly every time a player comes out, or one comes to the sideline while the first of 2 free throws is being shot. The Master is imparting his wisdom. And the players' body language has changed to where they realize listening to Huggins and implementing his suggestions is making them a better player.

This is Huggins' best coaching job at WVU.

Now, let's cut down Kansas again, Toto!
