I was able to get in contact with Clemons (NC) West Forsyth athlete Darion Slade even though he wasn't at today's Rivals camp in Charlotte. Not a major surprise but Slade let me know that he currently has the Mountaineers as his top school with Wake Forest. Slade has not made his way to Morgantown yet. He hasn't scheduled anything yet but he does plan on making his way up some time this summer. Slade says that coach Galloway has been instrumental in his recruitment and he likes coach Mitchell a lot. He says his relationship with the coaches along with the football environment is what is drawing him to West Virginia. He feels that WVU really wants him and that is very important to him. Wake Forest is selling the local angel and that is something that Slade enjoys, along with the ability to play on the offensive side. The Mountaineer staff has not discussed the possibility yet but Slade says that they talk a lot about how quick he is and his footwork at corner.
