I think that the global warming skeptics will be more free under Trump. Not actual speech since we all have free speech. But they will feel more free to disagree without being ostracized or punished or have their grant flow stopped. I think the federal grant money will free up a lot of tongues knowing the administration does not have a global warming agenda and the money won't stop if a study shows global warming to be less than a critical issue.
Remember when the East Anglia (Britain) emails were hacked, it showed email after email of scientists discussing how to stop opposing positions from being published, how to punish skeptics and how to stop opposing positions from being peer reviewed. "Hide the decline" became the most famous line from one of the emails (Michael Mann).
Even the word used "Climate denier" as in "Holocaust denier" is a pejorative and meant to stop dissent. Science is supposed to be about skepticism. Testing. Retesting.
