That is right! Nobody expects us to win. Might be the setup for a perfect storm. And the upset of the decade!
Although many may see it as the upset of the decade, or a miracle, I think that kind of talk is crazy. They're going to be heavily favored, by 13-15 points, but there have been bigger upsets in the NCAA. Maybe it's just that I don't buy into them being the best team ever. They beat UNC and Loiuisville and went 16-0 against top 50 RPI, very impressive. The way they did it was impressive. But I honestly think we are the toughest team they will have all year to prepare for, and if we play well we are capable of beating them.
They accomplished the very rare feat of going undefeated, but their schedule wasn't really brutal, OOC or in conference. They beat 4 top-25 rpi teams, we beat 3. LSU, Mississippi, and Texas A&M took them to the wire. I look for us to make it much closer than everyone thinks.

We'll have to shoot better than we have before and defensively we'll need to stick to their guards like flies on Pitt. But funny things happen in the NCAA tourney and I have a feeling.

I think if you all force 20 turnovers and grab 15 offensive rebounds in the game you'll be right in it.
Fortunately for us, we've been kinda surgical against the press all year and nobody has been able to turn us over recently (only 8 turnovers per game the last month).
We kinda crapped the bed in the offensive rebounding department in the first half against cincy so hopefully that will be remedied. We gave up 21 for the game when we hadn't given up more than 13 in the preceding 10 games.
I think if we can do those 2 things then the Vegas spread should be about right. I honestly have a hard time envisioning your offense being effective against ours in the half court or your defense in the half court being effective against our offense, but I guess stranger things have happenend.

I've been looking at the stats, and over the past 13 games (other than when Melo went out for maryland) teams haven't really had that much trouble breaking the press.
You all forced 23 turnovers per game the first 21 games of the season and went 18-3. The last 13 games you are forcing 15 turnovers per game and have gone 7-6.
This usually happens down the stretch. Teams just figure out how to execute against pressure the last 1/3 of the season.
Who says UK don't want this match up, that's kind of silly, you have to play who the next opponent is and it's West Virginia, every game UK plays is a white out or black out or t shirt night, they deal with this every game, If they can beat Louisville on their home court and Arkansas twice I can't see the mountaineers bringing anything new. The scared thing is funny and the pressure is no more than it usually is, you must not understand what playing at UK means, here's to a good game, Kentucky WILL be ready, will you?

I can only hope that the Kentucky players and coaches are so naïve. .....but I know the coaches are not so incredibly stupid. So....we'll just have to beat them even though they understand how great we are at what we do....

Kentucky plays its best against teams that try to run with them. This team is made to shred the press. If that's going to be the gameplan, it won't be close. The Harrison's and Ulis are unflappable and just do not turn it over, and our bigs run the court unlike any other.
Just relax and enjoy your inevitable, and just know that you've had your season will be over in just a few short days. God, what a terrible, trash fan base, hope your students bring quarters to throw at the players!

This is soooooo true. Trash cans filled with urine, aborted incestual fetuses, and random body parts from mutilated Chokies and Panthers. Oh yeah, let's throw in some Die Hard's for good measure.
However, I'm not going to throw them at UK's players. That's a waste of time. I prefer the fan base. Easier to hit and much less talented and intelligent.
Plus, while they are in Triage, we get to shit in their seats...
Just FTR, not all of our fanbase is taking you guys lightly. Do I think we win? Yes, I believe we should. Will it be a blowout? Maybe, maybe not. That really depends on us. The bottom line for me with this team is that if they bring their A game I don't think there is a team in the country that can beat us with their A game. The strategy doesn't matter. They really are that good and a very special team. The key to anyone beating us starts with us. If we come out and don't play with energy AND don't shoot well, we are beatable. However, if we are playing with energy and intensity OR we are hitting shots or both, I just don't know that anyone will beat them. That is not a knock on you guys. That is just how good this team is when they are locked in on D or hitting 3s.

Im a UK fan and I agree with you. The pressure is on UK. And I quite frankly am a little nervous about this game. Huggs has a way the throw a team a curve to make em look bad just enough for WV to pull out a win. I said for the last month I didnt want to meet WV. I was hoping for MD
