Tweet from WVU running back Rushel Shell

He just needs to run like that. If he ran with anger this year, it would have been him declaring instead of Smallwood.

Smallwood had 238 carries this season.

If Shell takes those over, and marginally improves his average from 4.5 yards to 5.......... then that is a 1,200 yard rushing season....... 300 short of Smallwood, but still a great year. It's really, now, about finding the backups worthy of catchup Shell's 137 carries in 2015.....

Hopefully, DTW can pick that up and at least equal Shell's 4.5 yard average.

You can tell when a player has an agent... ...and when one has made the choice to return for at least another season.

Real talk. I'm with ya Shell. I'll be gettin mines in the corporate world while your getting dem yards, son.

Let haterz hate.

I have a feeling Shell has a monster season in 2016. DTW has all the potential hopefully it comes together for him this year too. I actually think there is a chance WVU could be just as good if not better in the run game in 2016 if both She'll and DTW both perform up to their potential.

I think Smallwood is a better RB, but that is more praise for Wendell than a knock against Shell. I will say that when Shell went down hill with a head of steam rather than trying to dance in the hole he looked a lot better.

It's time to put up or shut up for Shell..........so far he hasn't impressed me much. Hopefully he can live up to his Twitt.

Talk is for those who underachieve and want the world to wait on their emerging greatness. For his sake and mostly for WVU I hope he has a monster season. Have a lot of doubts however based on his on the field performance as a Mountaineer.

For his 3 years of college football, Shell has averaged 157 carries a season.......... at 4.5 yards a carry.

Had he gotten the 238 carries that Smallwood did in any of those years, he'd have multiple 1,000 yard seasons by now....

To say he's an underachiever is ridiculous........... his usage has been low. He's shared carries every year with a corp of running backs........ now, hopefully, he's the man in 2016.

shell is more talented than smallwood and will have a better nfl career. he's more of an I formation runner, not the best fit for dana's offense.

[QUOTE="he's more of an I formation runner, not the best fit for dana's offense.[/QUOTE] That's [poop]

Assuming you're talking about Smallwood and not Worley, I disagree. I doubt the Big 12s leading rusher's stock is going to get much higher and running backs have a limited shelf life.

Take the $$ when you can get it, and the younger you are the better.

Smallwood is making the 100% correct decision. Once he runs a 4.45 on 2 good ankles, he is a 3-4th rounder at least

If Sims went 3rd round, and Slaton did, then Smallwood will

No one wants to end up like Marcus Lattimore

I know I was vague (on purpose)... ...but your reply has nothing to do with my post.
