Track Records Three First-Place Finishes[/B]

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 4, 2015) - The West Virginia University track and field team recorded three first-place finishes at the Ohio Cherry Blossom Invitational in Athens, Ohio, earlier today.

Millie Paladino, a Morgantown, West Virginia, native, competed in the 800-meter run for the first time, taking first overall in 2:13.83. Christa D'Egidio followed just behind in second place in the event in 2:16.74.

The women's 1,500-meter run saw two Mountaineers post top-three results. Renee Maisonneuve placed second overall in a personal-best 4:45.35. Rachel Faulds placed third in a personal-best 4:48.74.

Freshman Shamoya McNeil took first in the triple jump with a leap of 11.93 meters. McNeil also competed in the 100-meter dash, finishing fourth in 13.25.

In the high jump, Marsielle McBeam claimed first place with a mark of 1.67 meters. Hannah Stone finished third in the event with a jump of 1.57 meters.

The pole vault saw Tori Bertrand and Sara Finfrock tie for second place with marks of 3.35 meters.

Allie Diehl took fifth overall in the 5,000-meter run. Diehl's time of 18:30.84 was just three seconds off her career-best mark in the event.

Meghan Jean-Baptiste placed seventh in the 200-meter dash in 26.92. Jean-Baptiste finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.85.

The Mountaineers return to the track next Saturday, April 11, at the Mason Spring Invitational hosted by George Mason University.
