HUNTINGTON - Marshall Thundering Herd men's basketball assistant coach Chris Duhon resigned Tuesday following his weekend arrest for driving while his license was revoked for driving under the influence.

Marshall's athletic department released the following statement, "Assistant men's basketball coach Chris Duhon has resigned his position, effective immediately. As this is a personnel matter, the department will have no further comment."

Duhon, 34, was arrested Saturday morning by Hurricane police and charged with driving on a license revoked for DUI. He was booked at the Western Regional Jail and suspended by Marshall for a Saturday home game.

His DUI arrest was Nov. 30, 2015, also in Putnam County. A criminal complaint filed by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department said two deputies responding to a call of a man down in the Cedar Hills subdivision of Eleanor, W.Va., found a vehicle stopped in the road with the engine running and the driver asleep. The officers woke the man, who was identified as Duhon, and noted he had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, the complaint said.

The officers reported he failed three field sobriety tests. A breath test indicated intoxication, and Duhon was arrested.

He was transported to the Putnam County Courthouse to await processing, where another breath test indicated a blood-alcohol level of 0.202, well above the 0.08 level to be considered impaired while driving.

Marshall suspended him after the first arrest and he was away from the team for two months.

The resignation leaves Marshall head coach Dan D'Antoni with only two assistants - Mark Cline and Scott Rigot.

Duhon is a native of Mamou, La., who played for nine NBA seasons from 2004 to 2013 with the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers. He was with the Knicks (2008-10) and Lakers (2012-13) when D'Antoni was an assistant coach on the staff of his brother, current Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni.

He graduated from Duke University in 2004 after playing four seasons and helping the Blue Devils win the 2001 national championship.
