Absolutely amazing how quickly deals can get done when one sides doesn't insist on being obstructionist. Trump was known as a deal maker, and he was correctly identified as not having really strong political alliance. This may set the DC Political Machine back a hundred years. Trump talked the right "stuff" for me to get my vote. Now he just has to get to working with the side that wants to agree with him and move the country forward. Problem comes if he fails to stick to campaign wishes. He still appears to be his own man and not blindly attached to "Party Politics". Just leave the party leaders on the sideline who are all tied to the DC $$$. Trump appears to be conservative, and it is difficult to be in business and not lean more to conservative side, IMO.
As a conservative we would still like smaller government, lower tax, strong military, growing economy and associated strong labor market with competition for employees producing higher wages. Grow some thick skin when interest rates start to rise

My opinion: He went full blown rino at least 7 years ago, probably much sooner. That's about the time I decided he was a fraud. Ryan says things that really touch conservative hearts and minds. His conservatism turns back to ryanism the instant he steps off the dais. Many have continued to believe him to be conservative based on his rhetoric. Something happens to most of our elected officials when they exit the Beltway and head down K Street. While hurricane relief is noble and justified, the deals made in the last couple of days with the new ceiling and impending budget are just another kick in the head of future Americas. I hope Trump has some leverage to force bold tax reform. I know it may be counter intuitive,but when income tax goes down, tax receipts go up. ALWAYS.

I'm glad that a deal was struck to avoid a shutdown. Credit to Trump for making a deal to make sure it happened, regardless of which party he struck a deal with. Maybe this is a turning point.
I will add that a budget needs to be passed. Aren't we about to hit a decade with no official budget, only continuing resolutions? That's no way to run things, due fault to both parties in that lack of progress.
