Sept. 2 Virginia Tech (at Fed-Ex Field)
Sept. 9 East Carolina
Sept. 16 Deleware State
Sept. 23 @ Kansas
Sept. 30 BYE
Oct. 7 @ TCU
Oct. 14 Texas Tech
Oct. 21 @ Baylor

Nov. 18 Texas
Nov. 25 @ Oklahoma
--For the second straight year I think this schedule is favorable for West Virginia. There are not consecutive road games on the entire slate considering the fact that between Kansas and TCU is a bye week for the Mountaineers. And the Mountaineers even get a pair of home games back to back in the conference schedule with Oklahoma State and Iowa State.
--Also no mid week games. That is key.
--If West Virginia can get past Virginia Tech in the opener this schedule sets up nicely for the Mountaineers to be looking at 4-0 entering the month of October and a road trip at TCU.
--Speaking of Virginia Tech how nice does that look back on the schedule? Call me a traditionalist, but I would rather see Pittsburgh or Virginia Tech on the schedule annually than anyboy else.
--One downside is that for the second straight year, West Virginia is going to have to play eight consecutive games down the stretch but a lot of that is the product of only one bye week now given the Big 12 Conference Championship game.
--Finally, the Big 12 realized that Iowa State and West Virginia isn't anywhere close to a rivalry and moved the date to earlier in the year. That now means that West Virginia will close the season on the road against Oklahoma but a matchup that is a lot more exciting.
--Do think those last three games of the season is going to be by far the toughest stretch. Going on the road at Kansas State, hosting Texas and the back on the road against Oklahoma. But it will all be happening at the end of the season so by theory the Mountaineers should be playing their best football of the year at that time.
