Pretty much says it all
Pretty much says it all
None of the suggested candidates are ready for prime time. They will only drain the revenue shares of the ten current teams. Thanks for the post. That's what I was saying that CSU is small time football. They are not ready for prime time.
are you serious?None of the suggested candidates are ready for prime time. They will only drain the revenue shares of the ten current teams.
Completely false.None of the suggested candidates are ready for prime time. They will only drain the revenue shares of the ten current teams.
Then why weren't they already in a P5 conference? How many threads do I have to post this before it sinks in? There are only diluting teams available unless we raid another P5 conference, which, fat chance. BYU hurts its case that it is trying to be Mormon Notre Dame while having no clout on the major CFB landscape. It is another island in another time zone. The revenue isn't there for it to be worthwhile. Cincinnati, Memphis and Houston all have only the benefit of TV markets which wasn't the point when the XII replaced teams in 2012. They wanted good programs with tradition. They didn't want run of the mill metro schools with fans that barely show for games. Their value hasn't increased in 4 years to the point that it makes them attractive, everyone simply has it etched into their skulls that we're somehow more secure with 2-4 scrub teams. Cincinnati only was added after the Big Least was raided. Memphis and Houston were added even later for the same reason. Adding any of those schools is tantamount to making us the new Big Least and more unstable by diluting our revenue stream and quality of competition.Completely false.
hmmmm. The author attended..... The University of Missouri -Columbia.
A. School. That. Left. The. BIG. 12.
And a school whose fans have been running all over the internet trying to break up the BIG 12 ever since.
I'm sure he has an unbiased opinion of candidates for BIG 12 inclusion.
I don't know if the league will find CSU a worthy addition--but they'll choose based on scientific data of qualifications, not opinion based on-opinion.
He is not being unbiased when it comes to CSU they are a small time operation and pretty much everything he said in the article is true. CSU is closer to being Marshall than they are WVU but if you lived out here you wouldn't have to be told that.
Ummm...I hope you're not including academics, because CSU is a Carnegie R1 school, while Marshall couldn't even sniff that classification. Of course, you would know that since you live out there.
Last i checked expansion was being driven by football and not academics. But if you want to bring academics into it we might as well bring in Harvard bigger market and much superior academics to both small time Marshall and CSU but im sure you know that
If academics weren't a piece of the overall equation, why couldn't we get into the ACC or BIG? CSU is not a big time athletic school, but to compare their overall university status to Marshall is absurd.
