I've bent the ear of just about every coach and analyst I know this week. Nearly everyone believes our pressure will rattle their guards. Most think a 30%+ turnover rate when we can get into our press is realistic. However, every single one of them doubts we can score enough in the halfcourt to get into our pressure enough. That means we either have to 1) find a way to keep them away from the rim in halfcourt/transition D or 2) find a way to get them above 20% TO rate when we don't score...which means we have to find a way to get them above 20% TO rate when we don't score.
Do that and we can keep it close until late if we can score on 40% of our possessions. Score on 45+% of our possessions and we can keep it even until late. Score on 50% of our possessions and we will be leading late.
This is one of the few games where the midrange jumper is a weapon. Shoot 40% from the elbows and rebound 30% of those misses and we will begin to free up some open looks from 3 and get to the foul line.
When can we start talking about the Wichita State matchup?
