I have grown to really like the "effective shooting percentage" number over simple shooting percentage.
But, I am asked you because you are the expert on all things analytics here: is there a stat that effectively compensates for foul shots taken and made added to effective shooting percentage?
Something that would maybe come up with a # of points per shot taken?
So if I was 2/6 from 2 = 4
I was1/3 from 3 = 3
And was fouled twice shooting: made 4/4 FT = 4
So 11 points on 11 shots so my points per shot would be 1.
To me that would be the very best stat.
Your thoughts? Is that a stat people have??
