West Virginia already has a commitment from Morgantown (W.Va.) linebacker Maverick Wolfley who would have offers from several other programs including Penn State if he had opened his recruitment.

The Mountaineers have already offered Charleston (W.Va.) South Charleston safety Derrek Pitts and Charleston (W.Va.) Capital linebacker Dorian Etheridge. Pitts has close to 20 offers including Auburn, Oklahoma, Clemson and a number of others while Etheridge is largely considering his two offers from West Virginia and Virginia Tech. Both of those prospects are expected to visit West Virginia for the junior day in March and have been to Morgantown multiple times.

Today Florida State offered a pair of offensive linemen in the state in Huntington (W.Va.) Spring Valley offensive tackle Riley Locklear and Huntington (W.Va.) offensive lineman Billy Ross and while West Virginia had not offered either at the time of this initial post they have since done so. So that is now five offers out to prospects in the state from West Virginia and both Locklear and Ross have told me they plan to visit Morgantown sometime this spring.

There are a number of others without offers yet as well that are on the radar such as Fairmont (W.Va.) Fairmont Senior defensive lineman Darius Stills. So should be an exciting year in the Mountain State on the recruiting front.
