My two biggest disappointments in today's game were:

1) The play of the secondary. These guys looked like the Keystone Kops at times. It cost us dearly in both halves. Overrated? Believed their own press clippings? Not sure. But if it doesn't improve the few great plays that Karl Joseph makes each game will not prevent some B12 offenses from scorching our guys.

2) Skyler Howard continuing to throw the ball over and behind receivers .... sometimes on the same pass. We saw it some last year and in our first three games. Today we saw what that kind of passing can lead to.

Yeah ... I was disappointed with the pass blocking at times. But there were enough plays with adequate protection and Howard still threw goofy passes.

We could still have a very good season. The team that gets blown out one week in the B12 is the team that can blow out next weeks opponent. It will be interesting to see how our guys bounce back.

The DBs didn't have a great game, but they are playing a lot of man coverage on an island. The rush was not getting to Mayfield on many of those. OU has good receivers - not easy to stay with them man to man.
The biggest 2 things I see with difference between us and power programs like OU:
1.Defensive Line. Their DL are beasts and they were dominant today. Recruiting DL is tough and we rarely seem to have a DL on par with those type programs.
2 Team speed. We have some fast guys on this team, but overall OU has more overall / team speed.

Agree with your assessment here...and also what Chazz mention re: the pass rush /D line...we looked good at times today...Sooners looked damn good.

Blitzing without actually getting pressure left our secondary out on a limb. They did fine......matter of fact...I think they did good enough although our offense didn't...

Spot on.

My two biggest disappointments were 1) undisciplined play and 2) stupid special teams mistakes from shanked punts to catching punts inside the &(*&*( 10 yard line again... that crap should have been corrected.
