I think we have come to the part of the schedule where we will really find out what type of a team we have. Coming into the season all the concerns where about the defense. We are currently ranked 80th in total defense and 2 out of the 3 division 1 teams we have faced have below average offenses. If are worst fears about this team come to light we will see it happen in the next couple of games. Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma state all have explosive play makers, better than anything we have seen to date by far. On the bright side all these teams have Swiss cheese defenses. In the next month we will find out if our strengths can overcome are weaknesses.

One thing I am not really sure of is the NCAA site ranks are defense 80th. Espn site says it 42. That's a big disparity not sure where the difference is.

I think Gibby has learned (I hope) that you aren't going to brink enough pressure with 3DL going against 5 OL. OUR DEFENSE LOOKS BEST WITH SOME KIND OF PRESSURE.

Just bring a delayed blitz from the blind side and you will force turnovers.

Watching BYU come back when we gave them 6-7 sec to find an open receiver was maddening.

The NCAA site is rating defenses based on how many yards per game the defense is giving up which is why where 80th. Espn is rating based on points allowed which is why where 42nd. That is the reason for the disparity.

Like what has been said out there already, West Virginia doesn't do anything that much above average, but they don't do anything below average either. That shows balance. Usually a balanced team will beat teams with deficits. If the defenses mentioned above are as bad as we think, hopefully our offense can take the pressure off our defense over the next 2 or 3 games.

I really like our chances of going .500 from here on out and finish at 8-4 ... not a bad season at all.

And with continued improvement and the right bounce of the ball here and there I can see this becoming a 10 win regular season team. And if you can win 10 ... you can win 11.

Should be fun!

In actuality the wvu offense is much above average in yards gained to date but quite a bit below average in yards surrendered but the majority of teams remaining on our schedule have the same disparity as we have.
