the hypocrisy of the female left

It was appalling. Many muslim women are treated as property, particularly in the Gulf States. Then there is the matter of female genital mutilation. These female Senators could care less because they want Arab votes. There is no other explanation.

‘Fox and Friends’ North Korea-style ‘state TV’

On Friday, CNN’s “Inside Politics” anchor John King blasted Fox News’ morning show “Fox and Friends” as “state TV,” mocking the network as a North Korea-style pro-Trump echo chamber and accusing morning co-host Ainsley Earhardt of lobbing softball questions at the President Donald Trump.

The Hill said that King was leading a round table discussion about Friday’s “Fox and Friends” segment in which Trump claimed he was using the idea of “tapes” of his meetings with ousted FBI Director James Comey as “smart way to make sure [Comey] stayed honest in his hearings.”

“Let’s set aside the tough, probing questions on state TV there,” King quipped. “We haven’t actually heard the president’s entire story, have we?”

ABC’s White House correspondent Jonathan Karl also hammered Fox News as “state TV” in a tweet on Friday, displaying a link to Fox’s coverage of the White House’s decision to limit press briefings and only allow cameras at select events.

I don't think it's for votes and in fact I think when it comes to votes stuff like that actually loses votes for the Left.

Instead what it is is extreme political correctness taken so far that for some it takes precedence over the classical liberal values that have become entrenched (or at least I thought they were entrenched) in society.

If you're constantly preaching certain values then some people may not like your values and others may be okay with your values but get tired of you constantly being preachy about it but both of them will at least respect you for having your values.

But when you constantly preach your values and then you abandon them at will...while simultaneously preaching how others should follow your values...then people just throw up their hands. Your argument completely loses any moral force it may otherwise have had. If you don't consistently have values then you don't have values at all.

I think this hurts the Left in elections and in fact I think it was a significant factor in Trump getting elected. You can talk all day about how bad Trump is for bragging about grabbing womens p***ies but if at the same time you're glamorizing clothing that religious fundamentalists forces women to wear then your criticism of Trump's treatment of women carries no weight.

The same thing goes for the way gay people are treated. We're at the point where declining to make money by refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding is a bad thing but OTOH people can't criticize fundamentalist Muslims for treating gay people way worse.

We've just come off a half century where Christian fundamentalists were (rightly) hammered for treating gays badly but now when people point out that Muslim fundamentalists treat gays badly those people are called bigots for it? Yeah, and in response those people are understandably going to throw their hands up in the air and say "I give up." And then nothing else you say to them matters.

The problem with saying this is that is makes people think you're saying "Get the Muslims," as if the only two choices are to never say anything bad about the ideology that is Islam or else be someone that just wants to Get the Muslims. How about instead of either of those two we simply apply classical liberal values evenly and consistently to everyone?
