The Goal and Bar for this program should be to annually compete for the B12 Championship

Nobody is demanding or asking to compete for the NC. I don’t think it unreasonable to expect WVU to compete for the B12 championship. Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State routinely do it. BYU is doing it in year 2. We’ve never done it in over a decade plus since we entered the league. It’s ok to have down years, but not consistently be down. That should be the expectation for the next HC coming in for the interview.

If that's the goal, then we will have coaches on the hot seat on an annual basis. None of the teams in this conference are good every year. Oklahoma State has been the best team outside of Oklahoma since we have been Big 12 members, and they don't even compete for the conference title every year.

Those 3 programs are now typically in the hunt for the Big12 championship each year. There’s no reason WVU cannot compete in this new B12. And no reason they can’t compete with Kansas State and Iowa State. No reason whatsoever

A good reason would be that they have more talent than WVU, which is the case this year. It won't be the case every year as Brown has beaten them both in the past.

Really? Wasn’t this supposed to be the best team Brown has had in his 6 years here? And we lost 45-18.

It might have been thought to be, but many times thoughts don't equate to reality.
Again, he’s had 6 years. For comparison , Rodriguez had 7 years. Look at the difference. Nehlen took WVU to a NC game in his 8th year. Neal hasn’t had WVU even in the top 25 once in 6 years.

The game has changed A LOT since Rodriguez and Nehlen. And NOT to WVU's advantage.

Yes it has changed a lot. Why can’t we compete with Kansas State and Iowa State? Everyone else is dealing with the same issues. How’s Louisville doing it? Why aren’t we ever ranked? Why can’t we beat a top 25 team? Why aren’t we putting the number of players into the NFL that we used to until Brown came?

I think he meant to compete at least every few years, why argue....you want to be a doormat for the conference?

Exactly. The goal should be to contend going into every year. Obviously you’re not gonna play for the championship every year, but WVU should consistently enter the season as one of the upper echelon teams in the hunt. That was my point. Thanks for clarifying for him
