as I see it.
I fully expect Jonathan Holton to be a dramatically improved player next year in all aspects of the game. No more dumb fouls and better overall shooting. As luck seemed to have it, many of his best efforts flew back into his face. It just wasn't his year.
What can I say about Dev? He became one of the best players in our league with steady improvement through the year. Just incremental improvement will push him into 1st team all Big 12 status. Maybe some position defensive enhancements are needed but otherwise he began to excel.
I see spurts of promise from Brandon and Elijah that make me believe their contributions will be significant.
Nate........Nate..... after last year I thought we had a future double figure scorer on our hands but along came this year. Sophomore jinx?....maybe.....injuries?.....maybe......but at the same time I think he comes back to what we hoped for based on last year. He did play hard much of the time. And he will shoot better, imo.
The two jcs were good much of the time. Ball handling and passing need to improve and those infernal dumb fouls need to be mitigated but I look forward to their presence on next year's team.
Dax's shooting got better and hopefully we'll see him become a better all around contributor.
Jevon's shooting tailed off at the end and at times he struggled with ball handling. Probably freshman willies a bit. He played untypically good defense for a frosh. He should be outstanding next year and into the future.
Addressing the incoming freshmen is a guessing game to a degree but their reps seem to be preceding them. Given that, they should contribute significantly. That incoming JC could be the scorer we need to supplement our returnees.
Team-wise..... I look for both half-court games to improve just on experience and emphasis alone. Consistency should be better as well.
Overall, it won't take much improvement to see us with an outstanding team.
I look forward to it.
And btw, thank you, Juwan and Gary for all you did.
