Along with other tv deals the Big 12 has.
Considering the contentious relationship Bowlsby had with ESPN after the OUUT to the SEC stuff happened, does the conference third tier stuff all fall back to the individual schools and we see an end to the relationship with ESPN/ESPN+?
I have to imagine Bowlsby’s retirement coming before any new contract dealings is not coincidental.
Is there a market left where WVU could have a tier 3 deal with Learfield as has been the case in the past, or could it go back to a less profitable in-house set up as it was for years?
As much as I dislike the power ESPN has in college football, it feels like it’s necessary to do business with them. And honestly I have grown to appreciate ESPN+ for WVU baseball games that I would have never been able to watch in the past.
I don’t think it is feasible to imagine a Big 12 network being created.
All the uncertainty in the future is a little frustrating.
