It finally appears the Big 12’s backloaded schedule is an important talking point in the selection committee meeting room. After beating TCU — who was without Trevone Boykin — by one point last week, Oklahoma rose four spots in the ranking to No. 3. It seems all the Sooners have to do now is take care of No. 11 Oklahoma State in Stillwater this weekend and they’re in.

But that’s not all for the Big 12. Baylor jumped three spots to No. 7 after beating the Cowboys on the road last week, could climb higher in the rankings with a road win over TCU, and stay there with a win over Texas the following week. The Bears’ only loss is to Oklahoma and if Notre Dame loses to Stanford on Saturday and perhaps Clemson loses to North Carolina, Michigan ends up winning the Big Ten, or the Cardinal end up losing the Pac 12 championship, maybe we see two Big 12 teams in the final four. Maybe.

Oh boy, 2 teams in the final 4.... I am becoming a conference flag waving fanboy too.... I guess I'm more a a Big 12 fan anymore than WVU.

Big 12 (clap, clap) Big 12 (clap, clap).

What is good for the conference, is good for it's members. For a 10 team conference to get 2 teams in the playoff would be special. Long gone are the days of playing in a conference that got absolutely no national respect or deserved any. And we are so fortunately not to have ended up in the AAC or CUSA.

Agree and wish WVU was in ACC or SEC where they belong.

I am proud of the Mountaineer teams no matter their conference affiliation. My daddy always said he was proud of me whether I was running or passing or giving the ball off. I don't require wins anymore. Just good solid entertainment is enough. The Mountaineers will entertain us today as they play the Hawkeyes..............or is it Cyclones?
