The bad news and the good news

We'll drop another one to TCU.

We are capable of winning out after that and finishing up 8-4.
Thinking we can beat TCU stretches my optimism too far. 8-4 is possible but I wouldn't wager a handful of penny candy on it.

bad news - Dana and this football program

Good news - Huggins and the basketball team, tipoff under a month.

8-4 is possible, 7-5 is likely after the October Onslaught is over with TCU.
Texas Tech, Texas, Kansas, Iowa State and Kansas State are all beatable by the Mountaineers.
First, we have to endure the TCU game.

M ighty defense throttled Georgia Southern, 44-0

O utstanding defense obliterated Liberty, 41-17

U nilaterally decimated Maryland, 45-6, on defense and offense

N oxious offense & special teams against Oklahoma, 44-24

T urnovers lose to Oklahoma State, 33-26 in OT despite impressive comeback from 15-point deficit.

A wesome Baylor too much, 62-38.

I nch by TCU

N ip Texas Tech

E scape Texas

E rectile dysfunction Kansas

R oll past Iowa State

S lip past Kansas State

the bad news is, there is no good news. And when we wake up tomorrow we'll still have the same QB and the same Coach.

The good news: In 45 previous seasons as a member of a conference, WVU has never started 0-4 in conference play.

The bad news: We have to beat TCU on the road next game to avoid doing that for the first time.

Fuss and fume at the coaches and administrators if you want but...............keep off the players. They are playing their hearts out but just can't get a victory when playing a Top 10 opponent week after week. Now.............pay Holgs off and move on with the next coach. But, let me tell you...............the next coach will do no better securing wins than Holgs. College football (wins and losses) is largely driven by the operating budget. Think Alabama, Oklahoma, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, Clemson, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, etc. Even a big budget doesn't guarantee wins. You will never see Vanderbilt, Maryland, Tulane, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Temple, Louisville, Connecticut, West Virginia, etc. be among the football power brokers.

Because the rest of the teams on our schedule (after TCU) aren't very good. Just eliminate the turnovers.
Texas could be a slog. Glad that game is in Morgantown. K-State got embarrassed today, but I'll believe Holgorsen has figured out Snyder when I see it.
