The NFL coaching crisis has turned even worse. They simply have no one to hire except bum coaches mostly who will be fired after 1-2-3 years at a 80% rate. What a mess. The good college coaching winners like Saban, Dabo, Urban Myer, Herman, Kirby Smart, Jimbo Fisher.......and many more will never leave for boring NFL business that is going to collapse eventually or have decreased interest. Either way the top college coaches want nothing to do with NFL. They make huge $$$$$$$$ in college and can stay and build winners but in NFL they will likely be fired and miserable after 2 crap miserable years. Kliff Kingsbury sucks at Texas Tech and gets fired. He’s a horrible coach. He then gets hired by a desperate NFL team. Even the NFL assistants getting hired are a joke. What a mess. Hire, fire, hire, fire.......NBA is almost as bad. Outside of Bill Bellicheck the NFL is mostly low level coaches. They also can’t build anything. It’s a year to year business with bad GMs all over that suck at their jobs. You can’t build. It’s a gamble.

Get rid of fantasy football and gambling and the NFL would collapse or dwindle badly. Fantasy football is the only thing keeping the NFL going.

McVay was a great OC for Washington.

Look at Cincinnati since Jay Gruden left.

McVay was taught by one of the better coaches in the league in Jay Gruden.
Before that worked under the Shanahans in Washington.

On the one hand I feel really bad for Jay Gruden and everyone who has to play for the Redskins shoddy ownership but on the other hand I live in NoVa and the pretention of some Redskin fans is dense enough to cause a singularity so I do find quite a bit of enjoyment in their perpetual mediocrity

What Washington hasn't had is bad coaching.
For what they went through it was remarkable for that team to be in contention at the end.

McVay came from the Redskins. What he and Jay Gruden did for Kirk Cousins is amazing. Gruden could have done it for Alex Smith as well.

But I wouldn't consider McVay just some unknown coach before the Rams hired him .

KK needs to be more like McVay with the OL. McVay is a big guy on OLine blocking. His ability to run the ball makes the Rams good. That helps Goff out more than coaching.
