The AP Poll...

Good grief. Reminds me of the old Big Least after defection round one.
Another uncomfortable reminder of the BE days: This is the first week since the Big 12 began that the conference does not have a team in the top 15 of the poll.

All WVU has to do is go undefeated and the Mountaineers can play in the Football Final Four and maybe we'll get our first national title in football, although I think the 1922 East-West Bowl (later called the Rose Bowl) victory with Doc Spears' undefeated team should count as a national title. I'm Pitt would count it as such.

Don't bet any money on WVU getting in the final 4 if they're unbeaten. Houston and Standford stands in the way.

WVU would get no respect because the Big 12 is having a down year. Sounds eerily similar to the Big East days.

WV doesn't have to appear in the polls for me to follow them. Heck, if it poles you want, try skiing.

If we're undefeated, were in. We will not be undefeated, but rest assured should the miracle season happen we will be in. We are probably also in with 1 loss.

Let's look at history. There have never been 4 undefeated teams in a national playoff. Just too hard to not lose somewhere along the way. So I think every Power 5 champ that is undefeated will be in the Football Final Four. The scramble is among 1-loss and 2-loss teams for the spots not filled by undefeated teams. It would be a terrible injustice for an undefeated Power 5 team of any Power 5 conference not to be in the Football Final Four. Never happened. Never will. As long as there are fewer than 5 undefeated Power 5 teams. Because the conference games are proof of schedule toughness, plus any OOC games against Power 5 teams.

Doubtful. That would be the edge that an undefeated Houston would have over WVU.

Still way too early to speculate. Most teams have not even begun conference games yet. As of now everyone assumes UL, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, and Alabama will not lose to anyone other than each other. Highly doubt thats how it plays out. I also highly doubt Houston beats Louisville in November which will immediately DQ UH.
