1. TURNOVERS FORCED: Oklahoma State tied for 16th in the nation with 9 - 6 INTs & 3 fumbles recovered. WVU is tied for 110th in the nation with 3 - 1 INT and 2 fumbles recovered.
2. TURNOVER MARGIN: Oklahoma State tied for 50th at +.40. WVU is tied for 123rd in the nation at -1.25.
There are some stats I posted about during the bye week which are clearly in our favor - OSU has a putrid rushing attack this year and is also bad at stopping the run. However, every time we play Oklahoma State, there is some sort of crazy turnover situation which causes the game to go sideways. Look no further than the infamous Friendly Fire Muffed Punt from last season. The 2017 game, a 50-39 loss at home, was just turnover after turnover after turnover.
Our defense has forced 1 INT in four games. That's truly bad. And that INT came from our Bandit who had dropped back in coverage. We have zero from our secondary. Meanwhile, OSU has forced 6.
Bottom line from eer2k is that if we win the turnover margin, we win this game. If we are -1, we may be able to win a nailbiter. If we are -2 or worse, we are looking at 2-3.
