Texas President Fenves: Big 12 'Vibrant'.....

University of Texas president Greg Fenves has weighed in on the stability of the Big 12 and the school's Longhorn Network agreement with ESPN.

"The University of Texas is a proud member of the Big 12," Fenves said in a statement first given to the Austin American-Statesman and obtained by the Morning News. "It is a vibrant and competitive conference with a great future, and I look forward to discussing ideas for a conference championship game at the Big 12 board meeting next month."

Interesting that Fenves equates the LHN with assignment of third tier rights as a level playing field. In his eyes I'm sure it is, but reality is a b1tch.

ESPN is more likely to come to the table with the B12 over the (losses) LHN than UT themselves. That may be the B12's ace in the hole.
