With the score tied at 82, Texas point guard Isaiah Taylor raced up the floor and hoisted a hopeful game-winner against No. 3 North Carolina. The shot missed, but Javan Felix was in the right place at the right time for the Longhorns. This ensued:

What a huge upset for Shaka Smart and the Longhorns. Felix finished with a season-high 25 points on the evening as the Horns handed the Tar Heels their second loss.

Big 12 basketball is looking like an absolute juggernaut this year. 50% of the conference is ranked with three schools in the Top 10. Texas isn't even ranked and knocked off the Tar Heels (#3). The round-robin schedule is going to be extremely challenging.

It's definitely going to be a very top-heavy league, that's for sure. However, I'm not buying that we are a 7-bid league this year, in terms of the NCAAs.

Kansas, OK, WVU, ISU, Baylor........ and hopefully UT. After that, there is a big drop off.

I believe this is the year that gets Travis Ford fired at OSU. Kansas State is playing far above their abilities so far, as their roster is a patch-job of unheralded recruits and transfers, and Bruce Weber simply isn't a good coach.

Agree - looks like 6 bids this year, but that is still 60% of the conference. Texas & Shaka Smart are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
