It's a small, women's liberal arts school. I had a friend from high school go there.

I think this may end up being a trend for small liberal arts schools around the country. With the price tag for college continuing to rise, it's becoming very tough for colleges like that to compete.

For reference, tuition my senior year at WVU in 2003 was $3548 per year. Now it's $3480 per semester.

WVU is still a great bang for the buck...

when compared to other colleges.

Re: I don't get it....$3480/semester is nothing*

It's fairly remarkable that the price has doubled in only a dozen years. Also, WVU is cheap when compared to similar public schools, let alone private ones.

Without financial aid it's unrealistic for someone to graduate from a school like WVU without a ton of student loan debt even if they work through college. The total annual cost of in-state tuition, room, and board alone is $15,984.

My senior year was 1994, I think it was about $1300/semester at that time.

I hate to hear that. A friend went to Sweetbriar in the 70's. It was sort of combo finishing school/ liberal arts college in those days for rich party girls. A nice weekend trip if you were a young guy looking for girl with a boatload of money and poor impulse control.

The bright rich girls went to Randolph Macon. They were a tougher bunch to crack.
