Last season Chase Meyer came to WVU as a highly touted prospect but struggled with his command. He is in the Cape Cod League this summer and seems to have started to really figure out his command and D1Baseball was high on his potential seeing him as a possible day one draft pick in two years

Meyer had a 8.38 ERA this year at WVU but walked 24 in 19 innings. (Third most walks on the team but bottom 10 in the staff in innings) He has high velo, registering 28 K's.

Full comments:
"Pitched 19 innings as a true freshman for the Mountaineers this past spring before logging 20 more innings for Bourne this summer. The long and loose righthander showed remarkable improvement with his control, walking just ten for the Braves after issuing 24 freebies for West Virginia. From a three-quarter release point Meyer pitches in the mid-90s with a high-spin (2500s rpm) fastball. His slider spins even quicker into the 2900s with good shape and depth. He can also subtract velo for a low-80s curve that spins into the 3000s. With continued development of his command, Meyer is a rising arm in the 2026 class with day one becoming more and more likely as his landing spot."
